Carley and Arianna (of Zapah Lab) conducted a free walk to investigate the sensory experience of a high-traffic highway - on foot. This walk took participants above and around a GA state highway through tunnels, overgrown landscapes, abandoned bridges, and train tracks.
On the walk, participants explored scentscapes, engaged with the highway as pedestrians, and recorded observations about perception, landscape, design, and the unknown. After the walk participants gathered and discussed their findings.
The two artist have independent research-based practices, but have come together under a common curiosity about the human sensory experience in transitioning urban landscapes. They invite you participate in their progress presentation. The presentation will showcase their findings, participant reflections. Your participation will influence a report that will be shared at an academic experiential design conference in January.
